Marqués de Vargas, Gran Reserva, Rioja
Marqués de Vargas, Gran Reserva, Rioja
5 years of aging before release with 2 years minimum in oak alongside the name Marqués de Vargas brings together depth of flavour and quality that we feel is unrivalled.
Tasting notes: The nose has concentrated black fruit entwined with various spices developed through the variation of both American and French oak used in maturation. Robust body, well-polished tannins and a long persistent finish with fruit concentration powerful enough to give this wine has great potential for aging.
Region, grape variety & technical information: Hand selected on the harvest table following manual harvesting between individual plots. A blend of Tempanillo, Garnacha and Mazuelo from the limestone/gravel soils of the 'Pradolagar estate'.
Food pairing: Try the MDV Gran Reserva with Bitter leaf salad with seared duck breast and apple from The Spanish Home Kitchen recipe book.
